SANTA FE RUBBER ADDS LIQUID SILICONE MOLDING CAPABILITY
To complement its present compression, transfer and injection molding capabilities, Santa Fe Rubber is pleased to announce that it now has added equipment to produce liquid silicone rubber (LSR). This process, also referred to as liquid injection molding (LIM), will enable us to produce complex, intricate, thin-walled new part designs. LSR is an excellent choice for use in diaphragms or in applications in which any type of seal is required.

The fast cure cycles and improved performance properties of LSR make it a good choice for small, intricate components. LSR remains flexible and elastic beyond -70F and retains its properties up to 450F making it a good candidate for gaskets, seals, pads and diaphragms for communication devices, data processing instrumentation, medical equipment and devices, and automotive and food processing applications.
Because LSR is inert, it doesn't cause problems that other rubber products do, such as skin irritation or allergic reactions making it suitable for a variety of applications. Color is simply a matter of adjusting pigment.
We are very excited about the addition of this new process and welcome any and all requests for quoting your part designs. As always, we are ready to offer engineering assistance in your specific product designs and strongly encourage you to visit our plant and see the new equipment first hand.
