In designing the most appropriate mold, serious consideration is given to the critical areas of the part such as its sealing areas, parting lines of the mold as they relate to these critical areas, pins, bushings, tear trim features, how the mold will be loaded, how the parts will be demolded after the curing process, the type of steel used, the number of cavities, and the choice of molding method.
